FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Longview, Washington.
A Washington State woman reports that her EKG returned to "normal" after high-dose vitamin C therapy, perhaps confirming the recent Harvard finding that only vitamin C can transform stem cells into heart muscle cells.
Carol Smith had had two heart attacks in 1999; she was suffering 'untreatable' Angina-Pectoris, and was told that she probably had a congenital heart defect. Surgery was not an option. After her second heart attack her doctor told her to "get your affairs in order; you have less than one year to live." Then, she found the Linus Pauling vitamin C/lysine therapy for heart disease on the Internet.
In 2001 Mrs. Smith's doctors told her she would have to learn to live with angina for the rest of her life. "After taking the Tower Heart Technology for only 3 weeks, I have more energy and no chest pains. LIFE IS GREAT!", claims Smith in email correspondence from almost 2-years ago.
The product Ms. Smith discovered is Heart Technology, a product of Tower Laboratories based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The formula consists of the large amounts of vitamin C and amino acid lysine according to recommendations by the late, twice Nobel prize winner Linus Pauling.
Believing that she had been "cured" and stopping Heart Technology for nine months, Smith suffered her third heart attack. "Big, big mistake," says Carol.
Carol writes, "I restarted Heart Technology in January 2003. My latest EKG shows there is no evidence of any heart damage." Washington heart specialist, Dr. Au, was amazed. "He told my husband it was amazing that I had survived three heart attacks and that there is no longer evidence of any heart damage. My ventricle is beating normally and that I now have a healthy heart."
In April, 2003, the American Heart Association announced the results of experiments showing vitamin C transforms mouse stem cells into heart muscle cells. Richard T. Lee, M.D., senior author of the study, says: "For decades we have been taught that when your heart cells are dead, they are dead and there is nothing we can do about it. That we can grow more heart cells is an exciting prospect."
Lee and his colleagues tested 880 bioactive substances - including drugs and vitamins - approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to see if they stimulated the mouse stem cells to become heart muscle cells.
Lee stated, "We found that only 1 out of the 880 worked, and that was from ascorbic acid, the chemical commonly known as vitamin C," says Lee, an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and a lecturer in biological engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass. Ms. Smith reports that in addition to Tower Heart Technology, she takes her "regular heart pills" - one diltiazem 240mg and two Metoprolol Tartrate 50mg every morning. I take one Lisinopril 10mg, 2 Metoprolol Tartrate 50 mg and 1 Plavix 75mg every night.
She also began Unique E brand natural vitamin E, a product made by A. C. Grace company, after her third heart attack. Carol decided to try Unique-E (2000 iu) after learning of reports that this form of vitamin E (with gamma tocopherols) reverses evidence of heart damage. Carol also started taking two Life Force Multiple vitamins from Source Naturals.
Dr. Pauling's claim, on video, that the combination of large amounts of vitamin C and L-lysine can "control, even cure" cardiovascular disease has received little media attention. Tower Heart Technology provides the large amounts of these nutrients as recommended by Pauling in the form of a pleasant tasting drink mix.
